Casey Frazier is a local singer/songwriter/producer who has his roots in Colorado and Tennessee and those roots are very evident in his music. Benjamin Forest served 25 years in the Air Force before retiring this year. From an eclectic childhood and upbringing, to the regimented life and commitment of both the military and marriage, he has a very interesting story to tell. Beau’s intense emotional relationship with music was deepened after a disease left him “legally blind” at the age of eighteen on a backpacking trip through Europe. His lyrics are often introspective and explore themes of personal development, the immediacy of our one precious life, and longing for connection relayed through a sometimes strange, sometimes dark, and dreamy landscape of sound. Performances by Beau and his band are high-energy, emotionally-charged experiences that nod to the traditional ballad, express a gritty sense of determination, and the heartfelt rendering of Beau’s unique storytelling through his vigorously raspy and unconventional vocal style. Beau has recently begun to experiment with drone as a tool in music, inspired in part by the Indian tradition and the bladder-based instrumentation of Western Europe. The continuous hum of electric guitar feedback or the grind of the Shruti Box illustrates a continuum of sound that expands in all directions while staying firmly rooted in one unbroken tone. Originally from the East Bay in the Bay Area, Zack has traveled both nationally and internationally in his very capable capacity as a musician, vocalist, and producer. Zack began taking piano lessons at age 7, and has been playing guitar professionally since the age of 18. With a solid background in the blues, and Jazz, as well as modal music; Zack was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston. After Berklee, Zack held down 2-3 gospel gigs each Sunday in East Oakland CA, where some of the best players in the world have honed their respective crafts. Timing, feel, a discriminating ear, chops for days, and a highly developed understanding of music theory are all strong points of Zack’s musicianship. Zack has gigged and with Soul artist Goapele, Superstar Ryan Leslie, Boots Riley of the Coup, Vernon Hall, and countless others in his national, and extended Bay Area musical family. He most recently toured the Middle East in 2012 with the awesome pop band 'Atomic Milkshake.' In addition to his artistic side, Zackery Mack-Westrom has extensive quantitative experience. He has worked as both a housing counselor, and Foreclosure Intervention program manager at the San Francisco Housing Development Corporation. Mr. Mack-Westrom's work draws on his talented use of a multi-faceted skill set: a broad understanding of economic driving factors such as 'real' homeownership costs, Gross vs. Net Income, Taxation, Legal Protection (Chapter filing), and Net Present Valuation calculations, for example. His work as both a foreclosure intervention expert and financial analyst has allowed Mr. Mack-Westrom to both effectively asses clients' needs, as well as to implement a strategy on a larger level with a focus on shaping policy in underserved communities. Low—to middle-income borrowers received comprehensive debt counseling, with recommendations on how to best approach financial institutions and, in good faith, attempt to gain assistance with mortgage loans that have become untenable due to financial hardship, illness, or a combination of challenging economic factors. Zackery Mack-Westrom's work has resulted in cumulative borrower savings greater than $20 million. Mr. Mack-Westrom prides himself on serving others. Zack holds a B.A. in philosophy from University of California – Santa Cruz, and endorses Zen Philosophy and practice.
